Stan Batemon: Dedicated to Serving St. Clair County

A Lifetime of Service

Stan Batemon has dedicated his life to serving others.

After graduating high school, Stan answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. His service to our nation shaped the values that have guided him throughout his life: discipline, integrity, and service before self.

Following his military service, Stan returned home and continued his commitment to public service. He built a distinguished 30-year career as a Game Warden with the Alabama Department of Conservation, protecting the natural resources and landowners of St. Clair County and surrounding communities.

Stan later continued serving the people of St. Clair County as a District Commissioner and ultimately as Chairman of the St. Clair County Commission, where he has worked to ensure responsible government, economic growth, and a strong future for our county.

Proven Leadership

Under Stan Batemon’s leadership as Chairman, St. Clair County has become one of the most financially sound counties in Alabama.
During his time in office:

  • St. Clair County has maintained one of the lowest debt-to-revenue ratios in the state
  • The county has maintained strong bond ratings and responsible financial management
  • No new county taxes have been passed during his leadership
  • The county has invested in infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development

Major projects completed during this time include:

  • Continued improvements to county roads and bridges
These accomplishments were achieved while maintaining a strong county fund balance and responsible budgeting.
  • Construction of a new county hospital
  • Development of a modern drinking water treatment facility
  • Construction of a state-of-the-art Veterans Home

Stan Batemon Stands Up For The People

Stan Batemon believes government should serve the people—not special interests.
Throughout his career, he has stood firmly against:

  • Political favoritism
  • • Patronage and insider deals
  • • Wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars

Stan believes elected officials should be accountable to the people they represent and work every day to improve their communities.
